A trick that I found when the EVO stator plug starts to leak a bit of oil from between the plug and the case is to get the proper size "O" ring that will fit tightly over the plug and force it down between the plug and the case just below the surface of the case with something like a popsicle stick so you don't cut the "O" ring. It will stop the leak and last a long time. I have used this a few times and it works well to prevent the opening up and replacement of the part to stop the leak.
Also on the EVO engines a stator plug retainer is a good addition because they have a tendency to work loose and when that happens your battery will no longer get a charge.
