A little piece left over.

Hi there came back from a 800km round trip.engine light came on cruise control stopped working. Went thru the following fuses visually checked. handle switches cleaned checked. Faring off checked and cleaned every elec connection. Pulled front brake and abs checked and cleaned . Checked and cleaned all elec connections under seat and in side covers. No good still engine light. Eventually went back and test light checked all fuses . Well and behold abs fuse visually checked out but test lightshowed negetive stopped out and all good.
But my problem is I found this piece on the floor when finished.
Can anyone identify this please

Good find, persistence pays off once again. Can't help with the piece left over.
 
I can't help with the piece you found on the floor. But now you know visual check of the mini fuses isn't reliable, a benefit is most brands don't need to be removed to check with a meter I don't even look at them any more.
 
Ot sure of the length of it but could it be a wire harness support bracket, 1 end retained by a small bolt and a connector slides onto the other end?

Next time you have a check engine light and or cruise control mal function do a scan of your ECM and BCM for trouble codes, this makes trouble shooting a lot easier, see this link
