Has anyone ever wired in an aftermarket stereo in place of the factory stereo without using the biketronics kit? Is it possible to wire it in so the handlebar controls will work?
The biketronics kit is $200 or so and while it is convienient and all, I know how to read a schematic and would not have a problem wiring it in so an aftermarket radio would be wired properly. But is that all the biketronics kit is, just an adaptive wiring harness? Or, are there electronic components in there that are necessary for the handle bar controls to work?
