Burly Easyboy Lite Clutch

I just installed a Burly Easyboy Lite Clutch kit on my 1997 FXDS. The clutch effort is definitely reduced, but now the clutch drags, even with all free play removed. The design of this thing obviously requires more lever travel, but it seems to take more than what's available in my case. I've heard that these work well. Any ideas what could be wrong?

There is no discussion of collapsing clutch cable before adjusting clutch.

From web site:

CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT: Stand the machine upright and remove the
clutch inspection cover. Disconnect the cable from the hand lever. Loosen
the nut on the adjustment screw. Using an allen wrench, turn the
adjustment screw inwards (clockwise) until all the play is removed. Now
back the screw out ¾ of a turn. Re-tighten the locknut while holding the
screw in place. Re-attach the clutch cable and replace the inspection cover.
Remove excess cable play with the cable adjuster.

You need a bit of free travel for the plates to release, 1/16 inch is enough to release the plates. Try adjusting your cable per the manual

Did the clutch work good prior? Is the cable stretched?
