ceramic exhaust coating?

I just picked up a set of python staggered duals for my 04 fxdx. I would like to get the pipes coated with a black ceramic finish. Can I get away with just coating the heat shields instead of the pipes too? The heat shield appears to cover most of the pipes. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I know one guy that ceramic coated his pipes, got some real nice curved ones and put them on his Victory. He sent them to a place in Pascagoula, MS and had it done. As far as I know it held up real well and it looks GREAT. I don't know the name of the place but I'm guessing you could go to the Pascgoula yellow pages and find it. It's not a huge town so there can't be that many companies doing that kind of work there.
