Change fork oil RK 2010

Hello,I owned a 1985 Evo.
Changing front fork oil was easy.
Now,with this RK,changing oil is similar?
Can the fork stay in the bike?

Ok,ty.
Read it,saw the vid in the linked thread on youtube.
However, the service manual (2010 touring models) says:

Draining
1. Remove fork. See 2.16 FRONT FORK, Removal.
CAUTION
Exercise caution to avoid scratching or nicking fork tube.
Damaging tube can result in fork oil leaks after assembly.
(00421b)
2. Clamp FORK HOLDING TOOL (Part No. HD-41177) in
vise in a horizontal position.
3. See Figure 2-65. With the fork cap bolt topside, clamp fork
tube securely in tool.
4. See Figure 2-66. Remove fork cap bolt (1 ). Remove and
discard quad ring seal (2).
5. Carefully remove fork tube plug (3) trom fork tube. Fork
tube plug is under spring pressure, so have a firm grasp
on plug as the last thread is turned. Remove and discard
0-ring (4) trom fork tube plug.
6. Remove lork spring (5) trom fork tube.
7. Remove fork assembly trom fork holding tool.
NOTE
Be aware that damper va/ve (6), if equipped, may fall out of
inverted fork tube while draining.
8. Turn fork upside down to drain fork oil into drain pan.
Slowly pump fork tube and slider at least ten times. Allow
approximately about 10-15 minutes for fork to thoroughly
drain.
9. With the lork tube right-side-up, clamp fork slider (not the
fork tube) into lork holding tool.
10. lnstall the drain plug at the bottom of the lork slider, if
removed. Tighten plug to 72-96 in-Ibs (8-11 Nm).
NOTE
All touring mode/s, with the exception of Road King, have a
damper valve type fork on both the left and right sides. Road
King uses the conventional type fork on both sides. Be sure to
follow the correct step for the fork type being serviced.

Filling
1. Pour slightly more Harley-Davidson Type E Fork Oil directly
into the fork tube than is specified in Table 2-14.
2. Slowly pump fork tube until some resistance is feit and
then pump a few more times.
3. All models except FLHR/C (damper valve type fork):
a. See Figure 2-66. lnstall new wear ring (7) in groove
of damper valve (6). With the wear ring at the bottom
(spring side up), slide damper valve into fork tube.
b. lnstall lork spring (5) into fork tube. Use fork spring
to push damper valve to bottom of fork tube. Remove
lork spring trom fork tube.
c. Slowly pump lork tube a few more times to discharge
air trom damper valve.

So,my question still is:
Do I have to remove the fork to refresh the oil or not?
Can it be done with the fork installed?

If you read the linked thread and saw the video; why the question? You do not have to remove the forks to change oil; follow the video. The service manual is a very handy tool but if we all did what the service manual suggested, we would have more money invested in specialty tools than in our bikes. There are many work arounds when it comes to working on a Harley; sometimes it just takes looking at the situation and applying common sense.;)

You have quoted what all the service manuals states. But in this case there is 2 ways to get job done.
Are you at the 50,000 mile mark or are you just trying to change ride quality????

Remove Screws12 and washers, pump the forks let it drain, you can use a syringe to push the new fluid back in tho it will take a while and be frustrating

Changing oil ,thinner .

@Jack Klarich :
The last pic with the syringe.
Thought it was to measure the exact oil quantity?

Hey Jack, I was wondering on my Kids RC Trophy Truck, shop said when refilling shocks to gently oscillate shocks to help bleed air out and get fluid into shock to fill properly. Can same be done with forks??????
