Circuit Breakers.......

My Harley runs and charges but when I put the headlight on dip one of the circuit breakers under the seat clicks and heats up..........and doesn't charge........is it just a matter of a new circuit breaker or is there any other voodoo operating to cause this....thanks....Borderlord.

No sir, ya have to find out what is causing the current to ramp up. Must be some sort of short on that circuit.

If you simply replace breaker, the problem will continue.

I'd check stator and voltage regulator first. If they are both functioning properly, then look into that specific circuit.

Shovels4ever thank you....that would make sense for sure...............Borderlord

Yes sir, if he changed the bulbs, and they have different current draw problems will arise.

Usually happens with led's, but, will also happen with stock bulbs.

The circuit will require a load equalizer if current draw has been changed. The engineers can't plan on those type of changes in advance.

Generally speaking, the problems usually manifest in bulb dimming or rapid flashing in that scenario.
I had that problem on my 98' Springer, too much current drain when I turned on the passing lamps. Had to revert back to lower wattage bulbs.
