Cylinder Head Torque

I have a question. can anyone tell me the max. torque of the head bolts on a 88 twin cam. Thanks for the info.

I think the answer will differ depending on the head gaskets being used. If using Cometic, I would follow their procedure and it can be found on their website.

My bad, they dont advertise that info anymore. They say to follow the fastener manufactures spec. Sounds like lawyer speak.......:(

Jack said the way I like to do my bike motors...

Lightly lubed threads and a dab under the bolt head (nut) so it doesn't Gall against the head...

Properly cleaned threads lightly oiled and that little dab will do it.
I Like 42'# to finish the job off. Never a problem.

I have used the torquing then 90* on new Studs and the 42'# comes close on used. :s
