What kind of milage can I expect out of my drive belt?I ask because a friend of mine his sportster has broke his at 20,000. and my 20,000 service has just been done.I dodnt crash thru the gears or accelerate hard.

The biggest destroyer of drive belts is a belt that is too loose. Also road debris such as stones can wreck a belt. Many riders go over a 100 000 miles on a belt. I have been told that you may wear pulleys before a belt

Worst I heard of was about 800 ft. A friend fliped up a nail and it went through the belt. Also have the 100,000 mile story. I put over 50,000 on one and it was good shape still. Keep an eye on the tension.
