FLHTCUI _ Release kit - taking it OFF!

Hello. Have 04 FLTHCUI Ultra classic Electric Glide. Bought release kit with it. Just bought it this past summer. Am trying to take off trunk/backseat rest. Have disconnected all the cables, wiring even license plate and antennaes.

I've pulled back on the 2 hooks (part of the release kit) and pushed upward on the levers under the hooks. Still the trunk stays on as if it were bolted on.

I have also already taken off the seat as well. Have it on tender.

When you rotate the locks does the trunk pop up?

The 2 locks under the trunk...I rotate them towards me, then lift the other 2 that are under them. I pull up on the trunk with my arms. Nothing.
