This was from last oil change check while changing oil I noticed oil on gasket where the cases split "main motor" Ive heard they use silicone then steel gasket but anyhow mine had oil on it plus it seemed like alot of the gasket material was hanging out checked other bikes and no material hanging out was wondering if forced out from being loose, any how after oil change i tightened case bolts rode 800 miles and no oil on bottom.I guess my question is has the gasket been forced out some will it hurt later on. Bike is still under warranty and dont want any issues later on.
Thanks

I will be looking for reply's on this. My 09 has the same thing. I am hoping this is normal. I have not touched anything, but the material is hanging from the seam same as yours. Right at the mid split on the bottom.

It's the squish of the liquid gasket material used in the assembly of the cases. Not usually a problem . I would be careful re torquing the cases too.

Im pretty carefull when cranking on bolts you pretty much know when tight is tight but oe bolt was a little loose I just dont want my gasket to blow out in the middle of no where or just have a big mess im going to try to keep looking at other bikes and more guestions.

I would take a razor and carefully trim off the material thats hanging down. Other than that, if its not leaking, dont worry about it.:)

You say you are "Pretty Careful"? Dude, when you are wrenching on things like this, you had better be using a torque wrench. You will mess up your ride AND void your warranty by "pretty much" knowing when a bolt is tight.......:newsmile055:
