Headlight Ring FLHT

I can't get my headlight ring to release after taking the bottom screw out. I have tried to put something in the grove to help pry it out put it just won't release. Help please.

There is a small spring clip inside the top of the ring.It has lip that fits in a slot of the mount for the headlight. ------^^^----- looks something like this but about 1/4" long for the V part,the V also points down not up.You have to pull out on the bottom and then lift up on the top. Can't draw to good on a compuuuter

Push down on the top pull out on the bottom, lift off.

I had trouble with that too. Then even more crazy was getting that ring back on centered. I dtill dont think I have it right
