High pitch noise.

I just installed some new parts on my 08' glide and I have this new high pitch noise that I haven't heard before. First I installed the screamin eagle stage 1 air cleaner kit and a k&n filter. I also installed a dobeck gen3 ejk. I also removed the gas tank while doing the install of these two items. It's a little harder to pin point because I installed both things at the same time. The noise is only the first 3-5 seconds of acceleration. I also noticed that I can hear the air cleaner breathing but that is to be expected. Just wondering if that is where the high pitch noise is coming from. I also read it may be the injectors, but not a bad thing per say. Maybe something to do with the dobeck and the injectors?

I would think injectors would be very hard to hear under acceleration. I'm thinking its a new intake noise that maybe you haven't heard because it wasn't breathing as good. Does it run ok? Is it throwing any codes?

If it isn't too much trouble for you. You could put the old breather back on and see if it disappears. If it does, you'll know.

mmmm dog whistle pitch, not sure how that sounds since I thought only dogs could hear them. But in any case I've never heard one.

The auto-tensioners on the primary chain have been said to whine (mine does) but never heard it compared to a high pitched whistle. Maybe let the dealer test ride it and let him give you his say.

Not sure about codes. Seems to be running fine. It's like dog whistle high pitch. If you know what I mean?

You'll get what you describe sometimes when you install the stage 1 intake. There's a number of new sounds that will appear that you never heard before that don't indicate a problem either.

Yes that's what I'm leaning towards. I haven't had much time to do anything with it yet. I'll have to check and make sure all the bolts are tight and everything is sealed up good and tight.

Yea if it's loose that could very well be it. I have the SE AC but I've never noticed any noise like that. Course I'm half deft and my ears ring all the time anyhow.

I have a question, didn't your SE kit come with a cleaner element. What is better about the K&N element ?

Well I had an accident installing the ejk. I was in a huge hurry and I accidentally hooked up the ground wire for the ejk to the positive terminal. Which held the injectors open and gas poured out of my filter that I had literally installed minutes before this happened. So rather then try to clean it I just ran out and got a k&n because it was only $15 more then the stock paper element and is reusable.

Oh ok, that stuff happens. But maybe you can save it and let it dry out. You can always use it someday when the K&N starts to tear around the edges like they all do once they've been exposed the elements long enough.
