Huge trip Booked!

My wife and I are traveling fro Kamloops BC to Sturgis then down to Los Angeles. And then down to Washington via the coast. We're pulling a trailer with camping gear (tent etc).
Question is, any guidance on travel routes from Sturgis to California and places near the big cities to camp.
Just starting to plan routes and we have 3 weeks.

Why don't you go from Sturgis to Washington via Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, then go "down" the coast to CA? 3 Weeks is plenty of time. Your missing some of the best country to see.
