Installation of 60161-06 Luggage Rack on Softail

Just purchased a 60161-06 luggage rack to install on a '07 FXSTC. I do not have the
hardware or install instructions for it. Looks pretty straight forward. Assume I need to
drill a couple of holes in the tail light bracket to bolt the rear of the rack, bolt the front
of rack to existing mount hole in the fender.

Just want to make sure there is no special mounting hardware or method that I'm
missing. Especially concerned if there is some type of protective pad to protect the
fender paint where the front of the rack bolts down.

Any feedback, especially pictures or original instructions, would be appreciated.

I couldn't find that part number to on HD to try and get directions for you, have you got another part number?

Drilling the holes in the plastic easier said than done.

Maybe a cob way but a lot easier and accurate: Heat the short end of the appropriate size Allen wrench held in a vise grip plier with a propane torch, cherry red and push through the holes in the rack and through the plastic license bracket. Clean off the melted plastic with a putty knife or screw driver.

Unfortunately it's the only number I have, most likely an obsolete item. A general web google of the number will find it, but no instructions.

Perfect. Thank you very much!!!!! -stef

This is, as posted earlier, my tip as to the "drill holes" in the instructions.
