installing gen.3 & $

I would like to get the Gen 3.5 for my '08' Night Train however, I have no experience working on any motorcycles. So, is the Gen 3 something that I can install myself? Also can anyone tell me how much they cost. On the Dobeck website it dosn't say ( I am not a Vet or a first responder).
