I got this in an email......thought I would share.

Just a biker

I saw you hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line.
But you didn’t see me put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate last Sunday.

I saw you pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk.
But you didn’t see me playing Santa at the local Mall.

I saw you change your mind about going into the restaurant when you saw my bike parked out front.
But you didn’t see me attending a meeting to raise more money for the hurricane relief.

I saw you roll up your window and shake your head when I rode by.
But you didn’t see me riding behind you when you flicked your cigarette butt out the car window.

I saw you frown at me when I smiled at your children.
But you didn’t see me when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless.

I saw you stare at my long hair.
But you didn’t see me and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love.

I saw you roll your eyes at our leather jackets and gloves.
But you didn’t see me and my brothers donate our old ones to those that had none.

I saw you look in fright at my tattoos.
But you didn’t see me cry as my children were born or have their name written over and over in my heart.

I saw you change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere.
But you didn’t see me going home to be with my family.

I saw you complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be.
But you didn’t see me when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane.

I saw you yelling at your kids in the car.
But you didn’t see me pat my child’s hands knowing she was safe behind me.

I saw you reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road.
But you didn’t see me squeeze my wife’s leg when she told me to take the next turn.

I saw you race down the road in the rain.
But you didn’t see me get soaked to the skin so my son could have the car to go on his date.

I saw you run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time.
But you didn’t see me trying to turn right.

I saw you cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in.
But you didn’t see me leave the road.

I saw you waiting impatiently for my friends to pass.
But you didn’t see me. I wasn’t there.

I saw you go home to your family.
But you didn’t see me. Because I died that day you cut me off.

I was just a biker…a person with friends and a family.
But you didn’t see me.

Wow,that brought some memories flooding back, that was my mate and brother Paul XL to a "T".His killer goes on trial on 20th this month.

That was a awesome piece. Everyday we all face dangers out there just to enjoy our way of life. That is a nice testament to those who never got the chance to ride back home. Unfortunately, I dont' see it getting any better out there.

It's a shame, but your right. It's not getting any better out there. With cell phones, GPS systems, DVD screens. The cager watches alot more now than the road. What gets me is, anyone that drives, knows the weather is getting nice and there is a lot of bikers out. I don't remember 30 years ago ever hearing the word road rage. Yea, we got mad, but we didn't get on it and cut the other guy off, or better yet, pull my glock out and shoot at him. I was brought up to open doors for women and the elderly. Help the little old lady across the street. Today, people have no respect for others. You could be lying on the road, passed out, bleeding to death, I bet a weeks pay that you'd be lucky for a cager to stop and help. The Hell's Angels and other motocycle gangs (been watching on the History channel) have given the impression that all bikers are gang related thugs. As stated above, there are more bikers that help out their community and go out of there way to help others than the ones that turn and shrug their shoulders at us. Our Hog Chapter gets together every Christmas and gathers gifts for kids of families that are hard pressed. We all wear our leathers and go to hospitals and charity organizations and watch the kids smile. People have an impression of us bikers and its going to be hard to shake. I for one, always give the right of way, open doors for old ladies and respect others. We all share the road. We as bikers use a little less of it than the cages. If he wants more of it, I let him have it. Wear your leathers with pride. I do. I ride a Harley for 1, because I love it, and 2, because I can. But if you think I'm a no good low life good for nothing bum because of my Harley. Well then, that's your opinion. But I hope the next time I stop to help a cager out, it's not you. And if it is, your problem can't be fixed.

That is Good, I have read it before, More People need to read and understand it, Thanks for Sharing it again!

and you didn't see me and 600 other riders raise $23,000. last year for Backstoppers, an organization to give support to families of fallen firemen and police officers. And the tour bus driver didn't see the 600 bikes when he changed lanes and hit one of the riders even though we had motorcycle police from over 20 communities riding escort and blocking for us.

Today I put 2 bright yellow ABATE signs in my front yard (live on a corner lot), CAUTIONing people to LOOK TWICE, SAVE A LIFE. Maybe if more of us scooter drivers, contacted their state ABATE and bought such signs, maybe ... just maybe ..... .... ... .. . fewer brothers/sisters would taken each season. :42:
