Does anyone know if D401 150/80B16 71H will fit on the rear of a 2003 FLHRI. It came with a D402 MT90B16 74H. Just want to make sure there is enough clearance.

Cut and paste from Dunlop webpage:
130/90 MT90 5.00 to 5.10
140/80 5.50 to 6.00
140/90 MU90 5.50 to 6.00
150/80 MV85 6.00 to 6.25

You will go from 5.00 to 6.00. Almost everything I have read says NO. You will get interference with the belt and guard, maybe even left side fender clearance. Also, I believe Dunlop recommends a wider rim for the 150 tire. The info is available on the Dunlop website.

OK I will stick with stock D402 then. It just looks so narrow, especially by today's standards. Thanks

My thoughts on this are if you want the modern fat back tyre look you need to by a modern fat back tyre bike
If you try to fit a fat back tyre into an older bike be prepared to spend a lot of money or do a lot of modifications yourself to get everything to run without clearance issues

You can get an MU90/16 in there but it will be a little taller. thats what I run on mine. :D

I run the MU85s too. They fit, but just barely on the clearance with the belt. I think anything wider would require changing out some stuff (other than just the tire!).

TQ
