Leather Tank Panel

I'm thinking
about replacing the plastic tank panel on my '04 Heritage with a leather
one. I've searched for previous post on this but can find no information on
how this is done. Also, what are the chances of damage to the paint ?
If anyone could let me know where to look for info , I'd appreciate it.
Thanks.

Pretty simple. First remove the Seat, then on your console loosen the Acorn You really don't have to take the nut completely off so, remove existing panal then replace with what ever you coose.

Hope I helped

Your H-D dealer has about 10 listed in their accessories & parts book but why not make one or get one made so you've got a one of a kind panel. A saddle or belt make should be able to handle this.:D

Thanks for the help. I would love to have a "custom" panel made .
Now all I've got to do is figure out what the Acorn is :bigsmiley25:
Thanks again.

The acorn is the wee nut that holds the dash on, don't need to take it off just undo it enough to lift the dash and slip the plastic panel out. :bigsmiley17:

Here's my 04 with a leather pouch replacement (harley part).... never thought about having a custom one made...but the trim burgandy sortof matches the bike highlights.... acorn nut is between ignition switch and speedo...if I can do this so can anyone
