I found a cool looking chrome mic. I also found a 7-pin Din locking connector as well. Total about $22 Remove the 4 pin plug and install the 7 pin and away we go. Beats the Harley price of $99

I'll look up the pins in the book to identify what wires go to what pin. Only 3 or 4 pins will be used because the head set speakers are not being used.

Are the wires color coded?

I'm sure that the Mic has color-coded wires but with out seeing one yet, I can't determine what they will be. By using an Ohmmeter you can determine what wires go to the PTT switch and the microphone element.
PTT switch closes when pushed. So, the meter will read 0 Ohms when the PTT is pushed and open when released. The Microphone element should read a few hundred Ohms.
