New Dunlop rear tire

I just ordered an 180/65B-16 (81H) Dunlop American Elite Rear. I have been hearing good thing about this tire for the Harley Tour bikes. Seems that it may have a dual compound for higher mileage. It's also made the USA.:bigsmiley24:

All-new tread design helps provide even wear and quiet operation in wet and dry conditions.

MT Multi-Tread rear tire incorporates a long-wearing compound in the center of the tire tread and a lateral-grip compound on each shoulder to enhance cornering performance and provide class-leading grip and feel.

Sidewall design proudly features the American Elite name and Made-In-USA logo.

Available for Harley-Davidson touring bikes, 2009 models and newer, in sizes 130/80B17 and 180/65B16.

More sizes to fit other Harley-Davidson models will become available later in 2011.

I will be interested on your thoughts once you have it. I am due for a new rear sometime this fall. The Dunlop D407 is also multi tread design (this is the Harley tire as OEM) so other than tread pattern I wonder if there is other benefits of the Elite...The OEM tires on my bike have been very satisfactory so far (other than some whine in turns as they age but I have had other tires do this on other bikes). Let us know how you like 'em.

I like the look of the Wide Whitewall on my roadking classic. Doesnt look like this is an option with the Elite.

I've been running the 180/65B-16 (81H) Dunlop American Elite Rear for over 10 thousand kilometres now and it is everything you have heard. No wear showing yet, handles great and of course cost much less than the 407 it replaced. The 407 lasted very well but wined loudly for the last 15 thousand k of its service life.
