Night train shifting question

Hello All,

I'm the proud owner of a new 08' left over Night train. Just got it last week.
I just turned 300 miles. I love it. I have owned several metric bikes over the years and they have always shifted smooth and quietly. I noticed my harley shifts smoothly and easily, but it makes a firm clunk as it goes into each gear. My friend has a soft tail and says it's normal. Anyone ever notice this? Does that sound normal? The bike seems fine. Maybe I'm paranoid.

Most all harleys shift with a clunk. After a few miles the clutch may need an adjustment if you feel it's difficult getting it into neutral at a stop.

You may also want to put some Spectro gear lube in the trans too. It will shift much better

Congratulations on your new Bike. Yes it's normal. It is 1 of the ways to know it's a Harley while your eyes are closed.!

I agree...it is normal...I have had 4 harleys and all the same. Harleys are noisy bikes..haha...I use Redline trans oil in my Trans....great stuff!!!
