Due to the benevolence of HD, I received a card in the mail for $200 towards rental of a 103". So I am going to rent for a couple of days (mini-weekend) and try it out.

Going to go with a touring bike. The question is, which one and why.

I rented a 2012 RK in New Orleans when my bike was in the shop.It was ok but I was glad to get my bike back.Rent an ElectraGlide or an Ultra for the true touring feel

I would have to agree with this one. I've looked and dreamed at enough of um to know. They are just way out of my buying power right now though.
