pop bottle oil catcher

hey, i know there is a post on here showing how to cut a 2 liter pop bottle for a oil catcher under t-cam filter, i can't find it: can someone point me in the right direction /

I've tried using the pop bottle idea and it still was messy....the only way it's not is for me to let the bike cool overnight then pull the filter off the next day....

I just change the filter then after installing the new one spray/clean it with brake cleaner, does not hurt the paint and does not leave a residue.
:bigsmiley12:

I use a piece of aluminum foil as sort of a funnel to direct and catch the oil. Works for me. I like the brake cleaner idea though. Got plenty of that laying around.

If you want to do it with no mess I have a trick I use. You can use a piece of cardboard at end of filter to direct oil into a pan, take a nail or screwdriver and punch a hole in top end of filter turn filter halfway so hole is at bottom and draining,go get a beer, drink beer while watching oil drain out of filter.(if it is hot I prefer a lite beer in the winter time a nice ale or stout is good.)When the oil stops draining you can remove the filter with no mess no fuss,do this with it on kickstand after warming engine and it will be clean as a whistle..

It's hard to concentrate on the oil change when your getting me thirsty for a brew tom......what were we talking about? Oh let's see a cold beer...no wait!
