Primary Gasket???

There are at least two types of primary gasket material that harley uses - one is the straight fiber and the other is metal sandwiched between fiber - was wondering which one was better, any feedback would be appreciated

Any time you can get the new improved metal -rubber coated gaskets I would use them, they make a better seal and have better expansion rates IMO

I agree with Jack. Although the metal ones are more expensive they last longer. I have actually been known to reuse them. I have used my current gasket three times and it still doesn't leak.

you might check and see if your primary is flat before you put it together.
see if it will rock when placed on a piece of glass.
