Proper Installation of Throttle Spring on Super E???

My bikes almost ready to hit the road again after a top end rebuild. I cannot for the life of me figure out how this spring goes on... can someone please help me!! this is what it looks like as of now and the throttle is hanging up so i know its not correct

Sorry if this is the wrong section... I just figured id put it in a wide section because the Super E's are widely used. :newsmile040:
 
I moved your thread to general engine fuel and exhaust

looking at your photo it looks like you are trying to use the carb with only 1 cable i think this carb has been designed to use a throttle and idle cables IE a cable to open and another to close it and it will hang up if you only use the 1 cable
you may need to convert your bike to a dual cable system to use this carb

As I'm no real expert on either your model of bike or the carb you have fitted to it all i can do is guess at a possible solution
if it were mine i would be trying to fit a spring from between the parts that the idle cable would be on so one end hooked to the location that the cable Ferrel would go the other end of the spring to seat where the end of the cable outer would sit
might take a wee bit of fiddling to get it right
