Remap Needed?

Big Glide 08

New Member
I want to change out the stock exhaust on my 08 Electra Glide with true duals and a Big Sucker intake. I have read that it's not necessary to remap the bike as the ECM on the 08s will handle it. I don't want to spend the money if I don't need to. Is remap needed?

Your choice but I wouldn't run the TD and the big sucker without fuel enrichment (tuner) over and above the 02 sensors on the bike.

They are narrow band and cannot adjust enough, they will leave you lean and very hot too.

Do a search on the forum and see the other posts on this topic.

Big Glide,
all the advice you have seen on here is 100% correct, but then again it is advice, good advice from experience.
You can search the threads on here and you will see many satisfied riders with mods and performing some sort of adjustement to the stock ecm whether it be the SERT or aftermarket products. With that being said when you add more air and a much more free flowing exhaust, more fuel is needed to compensate for the changes you have made, the stock/current ecm/O2 sensors will only do so much for you wich in result will be a lean running engine (less fuel equals more heat, possible pinging, poor performance running bike)
You may not get the "bang" for the money you have spent with out some sort of fuel controller. Not passing judgment, but I/me would hold off and run it stock untill you were able to research and feel comfortable with what you would like to do.
