replacing speed sensor

our 03 heritage springer needs a new speed sensor, it was replaced a couple of years ago at dealer but has quit again, would like to know how to do it ourselves any help out there???

Should be pretty easy.
Disconnect battery.
Its on the right side, on top of the tranny & in front of the starter.
One screw, wiggle it a little to break the seal on the o-ring, and pull it out.
Then fish wires thru.

Here is your tranny and the sensor
# 50 is a keeper for the electrical connector
lube the O ring before you install the new sensor

issues with a speed sensor can also be caused by a broken wire or wires. An additional symptom would be the speedometer stopping and when the front forks are turned towards the right it starts working again.

What are the symptoms you are having?

I've had luck with just cleaning the debris off a sensor that was not working to get it working again. Might save some $.
