Sportster Carb rejet

So looking through the forums I cant seem to find a sportster carb "rejet for dummies" anywhere. I have the screamin eagle II pipes that came stock but I took out the baffles for a deeper sound. There techs over at Harley said thats cool juat rejet the carb. I get a lot of popping on decel as well as throttle hesitation. He said rejetting will fix all that. Anyone?

What jets are in it now? Any sort of aftermarket kit in it?

When working on a carb the best thing to have at hand is a good service manual
Remove the air cleaner assembly and back plate, detach the fuel pipe I do it at the tank, back off the cable adjusters at the handlebar, loosen big nut at back of choke mount bracket and slip the knob down and off the bracket
Pull the carb off the manifold and detach the control cables
Remove the 4 screws that hold the float bowl in place these are very soft metal and even with a good fitting screwdriver the heads can easily become damaged best to replace with allen head screws m4 x 12mm
Jets will now be accessible
whilst in the carb may be worth replacing the float needle as the tiops often harden and give problems
on reassembly ensure that the throttle and idle cables are correctly placed and adjusted
It may seem difficult thinking about it but after a few times of having the carb off it will seem fairly easy
But at every step consult the manual

Thanks jack and fin. Jack thats a lot of reading. Ill have to wait til im on a computer. Been in the hospital all day with the wife so its hard to read on the phone. Bodeen, its all the stock setup for a 2006 xl1200c. Nothing on the bike has been upgraded at all aside from the grips and engine guard/highway pegs. Thats it. Oh and saddlebags. Bike is internally 100% factory.

If the idle mixture screw has not been uncovered then you'll certainly want to do that while you have it off. Maybe increase the slow jet one size.
