O.K I was wondering about the stage 1 kit on the new Harleys. My street Bob has one on it and it goes like stink, hence my user name. My buddy took his off('06 wide glide) and says the low end is much better. So I guess my question is, is it worth it to have it on there. I'm not a speed demon or anything but I enjoy the torque.
 
Your buddy may have had a tuner that wasn't set up properly or lack of a tuner and it was lean. Don't listen to him. The stage 1 and slipons with some added fuel will get you about 10 HP or so with more TQ too.
 
I have a 08 FatBob and will be taking it to a Stage 1 some time soon. Waiting on my Christmas Bonus (I hope). But then the snow will keep me from riding til spring. Read Glider's article on the different Stages and read some of the posts on this site. Smitty along with Glider recomment the TFI for fuel. You won't get the full advantage from the Stage 1 without being able to modify the fuel. Again, thanks guys for all your input into going Stage one.
