Starter button sticking

My starter is trying to start when the bike is running, if I make sure I push the button back in at the top after the bike is sarted everything's ok. I'm not experienced with electrical at all. Could I have a bad contact or something? Should I just replace the start button. If anyone has had the same issue or any ideas pleas let me know. Thanks Monty 81

I only started wrenching about 3 yrs ago. For what its worth, get a HD manual and take the starter switch apart and check for any obvious problems.

Or try electrical contact cleaner in a spray can on switch.
