Starter Issue?????

Good day all I am new to this form. I own a 2008 Ultra Classic 54,000miles on it bougth it new with 8 miles on it. Problem mI have been having is when the bike is warm/hot when I go to start again it sounds as if I have a problem with the starter engaging.
Can someone please point me in the right direction wanna get this repaired before the weather gets warm again.
 
What Jack said. One step at a time, starting with battery and charging system.
 
I meant to say that makes a grinding sound when engaging. Charging systm is not the issue it has been perviously been checked.
 
Could be as simple as loose mounting bolts, corrosion on the connections, worse case a bad drive
