swapping shocks on 2006 Streetbob

Anyone swap out their stock shocks for Progressives? Dealer says my stock shocks are 12" and I measured the same. I want to put on a pair of Progressive #812 Vintage full cover shocks but most aftermarket sites I go to call for an 11" fitment for my bike? Going on the web for them 'cause the dealers $$$ is too high. I know, I know, just see how much clearance I have between fender and wheel, just thought I would check here first. Thanks

12" is stock, you should be able to go to 11 or 11.5 if you wanted the bike lower. Not speaking from experience just research, since I plan on going to some black progressives in the future. Also depends on if you have done anything else to the bike such as the wide tire. You could also speak to Progressive directly and get their thoughts. Progressives site, progressivesuspension.com also says teh 12" are stock.

BW is correct, since I was short in inseam at 30", I lowered my Sporty to using 11" Black Progressives and they lowered my ride just fine. Street Bob results should be similar.

Plenty of clearance between tire and fender on most H-D models, I have installed progressive's on both my 03 roadking and also on my 03 glide. The 11.5's worked good for me as I too have a 30" inseam

I have a Super Glide with 11" Progressive 412s on the rear. While I love the look, it doesn't come without issues. There is plenty of room inside the fender for the tire, even with the 180 tire I added. The tire hitting the the top of the underside of the fender is not the problem.

In the picture below, you can see how close the edge of the fender under the fender strut comes to the belt guard. On hard bumps, my fender has made strong contact with the belt guard several times. I have cranked the shocks up to there stiffest setting and haven't experienced this contact since. Hopefully this will solve the problem.

11.5" would get you almost as low without the clearance problems. I strongly recommend not going shorter than 11.5".

Thanks for the input guys. Fitment calls for 12" and the #812 Vintage's are what I'm going with since they have the full cans that I want and they hide the hardware. that style only goes 11" or 12" for my ride so I will stick with the 12's. They also have and LED lighted cap which gives you additional running, brake and turn signal option. At $159 plus I'll hold off on them right now. Just dropped $3000 hard earned $$ for chrome upgrades etc. Will post after pics when I'm done.

Sounds like a great setup. Can't wait to see the pics, especially the LED caps...I'm leaning toward getting those myself for my SB.

I have 11" progressive...somethings... (short memory), and haven't had any clearance problems and yes 12 is stock. I just like low.

I have the proggressive 812s in the flames 11 inch on my 2008 dyna, went with the short ones as I am vertically challenged. They work and look great. I did do the relocation of the turn signals so the wires are not an issue. Just to let you know if you go with the lighted shock caps they cannot be seen well if you have saddlebags, throw overs or bolt ons on your bike. I have bolt on saddle bags, took the caps off and sold them to a friend for this reason. If you ride a large passenger as he does they are again hard to see.
