Tach/Speedo

I have a 2006 Road King Police, FLHPI.

I recently removed the tach from the handlebar mount and disconnected it from under the headlight nacelle.

That said I would like to purchase a different speedo and my question is...

If I purchase a speedo/tach combo will the tach work being plugged into the main speedo plug?

Hope I articulated that properly but Im sure you all get the drift.

You're going to have to have a circuit hooked up for the tach to function also.

Take a look at this thread with pics of where to get the tach lead from.

Depends on if the combo you buy is capable of doing that. Check with Dakota instruments. My Dyna had no tach on the Speedo console. But I bought a Dakota plug and play replacement and now it does, all from the standard plug ins.
