Transmission lube for early EVO’s

i have a 1988 FLHS Electraglide Sport that I bought new in 1989. These early EVO’s have the shovel head style bottom end. 86,533 miles on the clock. 5 speed transmission. Since it was new I have only ran H D 20-W -50 conventional engine oil, H D transmission lube and H D primary lube. Runs like new, shifts like new.
My question is, I have been contemplating putting red lion transmission lube in it this spring. I started running it in my 2005 tour classic last year and have had no problems yet but there again I’m sure that although their both 5 speeds, there is probably several differences in the two with 17 years difference in manufacturing. I have researched this several times and haven’t found anything exceedingly helpful either time. So I am doing what I probably should have done in the first place. I’m asking here.
Anyone have any knowledge in running redline in older tranny’s?

I see no problem with it, a lot of folks here run the Redline lube. I have run different libes in the trannys thru the years. Pennzoil tranny lube 75/140, Formula +, Bikers Choice 80/140, etc. That's in Shovels,Evos & TC's. Years ago there were no dealers, factory or independent, within a 150 mi. so we made due.

I've been running Redline shockproof heavy in mine for quite a while now, I like the fact that it coats and sticks to the gears and moving parts and the pink color is helpful in detecting any transmission leaks.

IMO I don't think the year matters as long as it's properly lubed.
Redline products have been around for a very long time, I wouldn't hesitate using it.

Our long time member BUBBIE, rest his soul swore by Redline and he knew transmissions.

That’s great news. I knew I would get good, knowledgeable answers here. Like I said in my OP, I started using it in my 2005 Tour Classic last summer with no issues but I only have 2,641 miles on the clock (according to my maintenance log book I keep for everything I do to my scooters, vehicles, lawn mower, ATV etc)
