Wiring tach

Harley tells me that I need a harness adapter to wire in a handle bar tach. Do I need this particular part or can it be wired differently, and not sure what piece I really need, any help would be appreciated. 07 dyna low rider

I installed a digital tach/speedo unit to replace the OEM speedo on my 06 Super Glide. I wire ran the wire for the tach signal back to the electrical panel. I added the terminal to the wire, added the wire to the ECM harness so it plugs into pin #3. Let me know if you need more specific info.

I switched out my stock tack on my 08 Low rider with no issues at all and no additional wiring.
