My take on it:
I would think he did some type of conversion form the Chain/Shoes that are possible problems on the early TC motors.
IS it Possible ? to ask a Kin of his, to see IF they know..?..
I would not be offended to be asked... I would approach it as taking care of "His" baby...
You just wanting to know a little more about HIS bike you bought
The other way is to take off/loose the header pipes, exhaust "IF" that model King won't allow the cam-cover to be removed without doing so.
Basic Looking and it is easy. The cam-cover is just a Cover and you Can reuse the gasket.
That will tell you IF he did ANY replacement. There are two ways I know of that he might have changed.
Gear Drive Cams... (best in my book)
SE cam-plate conversion...(better chain/oil pump tensioner system)
One other would have been to Replace the worn tensioner Shoes with new ones. Looking will tell you. .
Any way You handle this is Your business... I Only Suggest.
I would First try the getting in touch with a family member.:small3d005:
