Awesome thanks for the advice!Keep an eye on the hard oil line (nice job) where it touches the engine. Maybe split a short piece of hose to keep it up. Coils are usually mounted above the front cylinder where they get a good air flow. Between the cylinders is not good.
Oh well this likely explains my situation. I didn't see anything about a ball bearing anywhere, and didn't see it in any of the youtube videosThe plunger and contacts in the solenoid are replaceable, there should be a ball bearing inside where the stem of the plunger bottoms out .
Same set up as early Chrysler starters , the plunger disk and contacts are about 1/16 or more thick and flat when new.
Pull off the 4 bolt cover to inspect, you can take them to a starter alternator rebilder and they should be able to match them up.
