Any city would be my choice for worst. Other than that, it's more a matter of timing to get the right weather, road conditions, etc. I'm actually fine with long straight roads with boring scenery if the weather is good and I have good music. Having a good eating destination helps that too!

you really think Miami is that bad?! weather & scenery are great. yeah, there are lights if you're driving the A1A along the coast but the highway is pretty open.
My vote for worst is NYC - if the cars or potholes don't kill you, traffic will make sure you never get where you're going.

Miami= TOO many stop lights Avoid it at any cost
Actually it's too many people RUNNING the stoplights. It's a horrible place to drive.

There's an approximately 20 mile section of 83 north of Uvalde . . . take that later in the afternoon and you will cook at any speed . . . that blacktop really roasts your bones!

I would add "East Bound" in the early morning for similar reasons.
I do agree with your late afternoon "West Bound" idea!
