andrews 26 cam in 95 build

Do you know where those Ultima lifters are made? I read they where badged High Lift Johnson and are imported, not made in America by Johnson..?? Now I tried to do some more investigating but cannot find anything factual.

Guess I'm not sure...that's why I bought S&S.

No Stray Dog . I just heard they were made by Johnson.

F.K.,
It's JMHO that, if me, I want quality moving parts in my motor ie. lifters & oil pump. That's why I posted.
I read some junk on the net about Ultima lifters and I honestly don't know so I probably should've left my fingers off the keyboard :D

Investigating and rounding up all the parts for the DIY'er can be more work than the wrenching!! Good luck to ya! :s

I hope your build turns out how you expect or better and looking forward to hearing about it!

Oh I will post . Still wating on my ex to sighn off on the house . Taking her back to coart on the 30. so hopefuly before then .
Ya i had to open and remove my primary . I snapped the main drive belt on my last run . so I have replaced that and am working on buttoning up the primary.
I did take the cam chest plate off . good thng the main belt broke, the cam chain tinsioners were just about to self distruct .
So I have some Cyco tensioners and new torrington bearings. so If I have to wate to send off the jugs and heads till later I can still ride .
I apreciate all the help you guys are giving me .
Thanks again .

Hey guys whats best for getting old gaskets off without damaging the wrinkle black on the engine . I don't want to use anything steel .I have the new bealt on and the primary buttoned up . I have the cam case open and the push rods removed and just getting new outer berings . I'm running 0.003 run out right on . Is this questionable for gear drivin timming ?
Thanks F.K.

I've just used this on my snowmobile motor tear down a few months back. It works good although you still need a razor blade for scraping. I'm not sure how it will react to the painted wrinkle finish tho...I would be very careful to keep it from any painted surface and wipe up any immediately. The little brush applicator on this works well to spread minimal juice to where you want it.

I believe .003 is the max recommended T.I.R. you can have if going gear drive.
Mine was at .0025 & I did the gear drive.

I'm confused, you are going to change the inner cam bearings aren't you?
