actually lower temps are better for battery life. Less juice but more life. heat kills batterys. a voltage meter is a great tool. you can tell the voltage and charge amps. i use the cheap walmart two stage charger in the winter and it works great. i use mine for about an hour a week. keep the voltage above 12.5 volts to prevent sulphation. there is a lot of great info on the net regarding charging etc.
