broken muffler bracket

Left side fender/exhaust support bracket broke this spring right in the radius. I rewelded it, added some extra beads and ground it smooth. Painted it with zink primer, and it's been good so far.
I wonder why they haven't reinforced that detail in 20+ years of failures?

some dealers you just have to laugh at. when my buddy called his dealer and told them he needed a bracket they asked him if he change his pipes out what does that have to do with it

Trying to cast doubt would be my guess, so they could get around warranty issues, you know none HD parts, sound familiar?
