Cam chain shoes 2000 deuce

i was looking at a 2001 heritage at harley shop, it had 45,000 on it and they done the cam chain shoes , the old ones that came out of it were on the counter to show they were changed, he told me they were 75% gone, if i were getting them done at harley shop it would have cost some were between $1500.00 to $1700.00
he told me what all had to be took off bike and i cringed.. so for 45,000 miles and still have 25% left, they looked pretty good.
