Carbon at base of jugs.

I noticed that I had a few spots of carbon (black dusty) on the jugs where they meet the block, but only on the shifter side. Cleaned off fairly easily, but it gives me concern. ( edit out mistake ) Any thoughts?

It sounds like the jugs are mounted upside down.

Where the jugs meet the block. Not the heads, sorry. I should be saying around the base gasket per the service manual.

Soot down there i would think more oil if the jug orings were leaking
