Trailering is always better but for 5 miles it should hold up. Just pay attention to see if it is getting worse and drive it easy.

Attention all harley riders- use spectro 6 speed transmission oil; it will make tons of difference in how trans shifts and sounds.

Just got my 07 Ultra out of the shop with this same issue. Dealer said that parts made in 06 were a problem. Couldn't say why my 07 had the problem at 14000. Noises actually started around 12000 but dealer said was OK to run. When I took it back he shut off the motor as soon as I started it up. No charge to me.
