It says "roll off" position", not open throttle.

Closed...no gas. Roll on the throttle=accelerate. Roll off = decelerate.

If I'm not mistaken, what you need to do is physically roll the throttle forward to activate/deactivate. I.e., you need to roll it past it's neutral idle position.

Cool I'm gone play with it after work see what happens .that should still work even when I don't have cruise control ? The cruise control lite should still let me know if it on or off

I have mine turned on, while riding at Daytona Bike Week 2 up, I used it. Different sound and I did have to rev engine prior to taking off as it seemed it wanted to stall on take off. Brand new '09 Ultra with 110 engine.

leave mine on all the time. it engages just about everytime I ride here in Florida.
