Derby Cover

Hello All I just wanted to know how hard is it to chanage out a derby cover and gasket I am going with Willie G theme.

Also, make sure you have the correct torx bit to remove/replace the derby cover...I believe it's a T-27...easy w/the screws because they strip & snap.

Your 09 uses the O ring type gasket On derby cover.
The replacement will use the flat gasket so make sure you get one.

the willi g will take the flat gasket

Agree that those torx screws are easily strippable. They tighten the snot out of them from the factory although yours has probably already been off. Allen screw replacement is a good idea.

T-27 torx bit make sure ya got one not a 25

Replace those torx heads with allen heads, you'll thank me later on

Have the bike upright when you remove the derby cover or the primary oil may overflow

...what everyone else said and...prop up the bike as upright as possible that way you wont lose any oil. The swap is a piece of cake unless you have problems getting the torx loose.
