Do I need to align Oil Pump?

Bubbie<How do I install the new oil pump? I'm doing the upgrade tonight/tomorrow. Familiar with the old plate. Have everything laid out, just a little nervous about removing old pump and installing the new. Heard so much about mis alignments you know.

You need year of bike
What cam-plate and Oil pump?
are you converting from shoe to newer Hydraulics?
