Being a UC owner myself and JMO --- I think what your seeing is "road dust". My scoot has been known to get pretty dusty from the bags back also. I really cant see brake dust up top of the tour pack.

You say its a New UC -- what year / mileage?

Mine gets dusty also, but it's only road dust. Pledge is the best thing to use for this problem, it helps repel dust.

Its more than likely is road dust. Mine gets dusty after almost every ride. I just clean it off when I get a chance which is not often as it is usually on the road to somewhere.
