Just replaced the transmission cover of my 2001 Softail STD on Sunday. Went online and found helpful suggestions. They said to pinch the ears of the clips and gently pull. It came right out. Went on to finish replacing the cover. Went on a ride after that and had no leaks. Been riding for 4 days with no problems. If it doesn't come out with little force, I suggest you seek more help. The tool that actually removes my connections is the 44555 and costs $15.00.
